The ES-5160 MRAP (Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected) is based on high mobility military off-road chassis. It adopts 400 hp powerful diesel engine, two-stage deceleration military drive axle. Its front and rear suspension adopt double wishbone variable stiffness hydro pneumatic spring independent suspension. DES-5160 MRAP features for its powerful engine, excellent driving stability and comfortability, high integrated information technology. The vehicle body adopts welded structure of full armor steel plate with sectional load-bearing, double “U” shaped bottom plate design for better blast protection (STANAG 4569 Level 3). The ballistic protection of the engine bay is STANAG 4569 Level 3, all other sides include roof is STANAG 4569 Level 2 (upgradeable to STANAG 4569 Level 3 with Add-on Armor). Its variants include reconnaissance vehicles, command & communication vehicles, ambulance, etc.
